ED&C office launches publication The Town of Caledon is energetically building a reputation as a successful place to invest, supported by the launch of the newest publication from the Economic Development & Communications Department. The 2006 Review summarizes the work accomplished by the Economic Development & Communications Department (ED&C) to advance the prosperity of Caledon's business community. With a mandate to increase both assessment and employment opportunities in the community, ED&C engages in a wide range of activities and tactics - and delivers credible results. "ED&C's new publication clearly demonstrates the Town of Caledon's dedication to the retention, attraction and expansion of businesses," said Mayor Marolyn Morrison. "Demonstrating that Caledon has a viable, sustainable economy is fundamental to reinforcing our position as a serious competitor in attracting and retaining business within the Greater Toronto Area." The audience for this publication includes local business owners, potential investors, site selectors, developers, realtors, neighbouring municipal partners and organizations. "Our marketing attracts strategic investment and creates a prosperous local economy by encouraging and promoting desirable economic growth in Caledon to maximize employment, tax assessment and land-use opportunities for the municipality," commented Norm Lingard, manager of Economic Development & Communications. ED&C's efforts to enhance and promote the reputation of Caledon as a place to do business are focused on investment retention, engaging in business attraction programs that target strategic sectors, supporting tourism promotion and investment, entrepreneurship development, and increasing brand recognition.
