Women Connecting
Mother & son cooking team on tap June 13

Mother and son team, Michael and Niki Gallo, will be joining Women Connecting to teach the group all about summer cooking. Michael is an aspiring young chef who is presently training at the Humber College. He has already started winning cooking awards. He also teaches night school cooking classes in the general interest classes such as international cooking and Quick and Easy at both Humberview and Mayfield.

With both of his parents guidance, at the age of 4 he was already helping in preparing meals. While watching Sesame Street one day he asked his dad to copy down the perogie recipe they were demonstrating. They then took out the ingredients and with a little assistance he made potato and cheese perogies for dinner that evening.

Niki also learned at home before taking courses at night school and is always trying out new and various ways of cooking. Her formal training comes in the cake decorating field, having more than 30 years experience in this area. She also teaches at Humberview and Mayfield. Niki and Michael are quite comical in the kitchen together. The saying "too many cooks spoil the broth" does not pertain in their household.

You won't want to miss this exciting evening. Women Connecting meets June 13, 6 p.m.at Glen Eagle Golf Club, Regional Road 50, Bolton. Tickets are $35 for dinner, (prepayment is required). For registration please contact Suzanne at the Caledon Chamber of Commerce, 905-857-7393.
