Bolton Wanderers rep. round-up

Down 3-1 at the half, Wanderers' Havenwood Homes under 8 girls' select squad rallied with five minutes remaining to earn a 5-5 draw with visiting Brampton "B" in recent Under 9 Peel Halton Soccer League action.

Jessica Dodig led the way for the younger Wanderers with a hat trick. Liza Knill was on the score sheet with two, while honourable mention goes to Elaina Mikulski for her feisty play. Julia Ruffolo tallied for the Bolton 99s in previous week's play in Georgetown.

Representing the Wanderers in the South Region's Under 9 Select Division are the Bolton 98 girls sponsored by Casamici Trattoria, who rolled over Erin Mills "B" in their home opener at Edelweiss 11-1. Bolton markers came from Alana Gnida and Mikaela Dodig who both netted hat-tricks. Laura Bernardi found the back of the net twice, while singles came from Julia Ficociello, Sabrina Landolfi, and Julia Pettella. The 98 girls are also sponsored by Atlantic Auto Collision and traveled to Whitby this past weekend to participate in their first tournament of the season and represented Bolton well winning 3 of 4 matches. The opening game saw Bolton top host Whitby 4-2 with Julia Ficociello leading the way with two goals. Singles went to Laura Bernardi and Julia Pettella.

Bolton dropped game two 4-0 to a strong Aurora team, however, the girls bounced back against Pickering Power and Ajax Fox winning both games by a 3-2 score. Goal scorers for these two contests were Mikaela Dodig with 3, Julia Ficociello, Julia Pettella, and Victoria Ramos. Overall, the Bolton 98 Girls put on a fine performance against teams who'd been competing in the second or third tournaments of the season. Next on the tournament schedule for both the Bolton girls 98 and 99 squads is the Mini Robbie in Scarborough, June 24.
