Join C3 and listen to Dr. Hayden Dr. Frank Hayden is one of Canada's most accomplished citizens. Forty years ago, the man who started the Special Olympics as a celebration for the country's 100th birthday, created a program to challenge mentally developed people. The Special Olympics Program is now in more than 120 countries around the world and Dr. Hayden has been recognized in many places for his leadership and vision. An evening supper at the Caledon Golf and Country Club is a fund-raiser for local area athletes and anyone who would like to hear this inspiring man are welcome. It will be held June 7 at 7 p.m. Call 905-838-2662. Tickets are $50 each. The day also includes a best-ball 18-hole golf day, followed by the dinner and speaker. "Dr Hayden does not speak much any longer and as a long-time friend and former professor he is coming to Caledon as a favour to me," said former Olympic coach Barrie Shepley. "To hear the story directly from the man who envisioned the Special Olympics Then made it happen is amazing." People can book supper tickets or golf and supper for the June 7 function by calling C3 at 905-838-2662 or emailing info@c3online.ca. Additionally, more details on the day and evening are on the C3 Web site at www.c3online.ca. |
