Ambitious local students curate juried exhibition An exhibition created and organized solely by students from Mayfield Secondary School and Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School will be on display at the Art Gallery of Peel from June 7- 24. The opening of the Secondary School Juried Exhibition will take place June 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. "We are pleased to provide students with a rare opportunity to create, organize, assemble and promote an art exhibition from start to finish," said Alicia Mitchell, education co-ordinator at the Peel Heritage Complex (PHC). "Again, we have a number of ambitious, talented and dedicated students participating in this year's exhibition." Each year, students from various schools across the region are selected to organize the Secondary School Juried Exhibition. Working in partnership with the PHC, students assemble the show with the help of PHC staff members and their art teachers. "It's a lot of hard work, and it takes a lot of time and effort, but it'll all be worth it on opening night," said Tanesha Darby, one of the student curators from Mayfield Secondary School. To find out more about the Secondary School Juried Exhibition, or other PHC programs and exhibitions, visit them at peelheritagecomplex. org or call 905- 791-4055.
