Bandits tyke 1 and peewee teams chalk up victories The tykes faced off against their strong opponent, the Brampton 2 Excelsiors at their home opener recently. Only three minutes into the first period, Ryan Radisa blasted in the Bandits' first goal. It was followed 40 seconds later with a goal by Matthew Impey. Nicholas Saville, Impey (2) and Noah Rebellato also found the net in the first period. The second period saw a renewed Excelsiors team, but right from the face-off, Andrew Rybka scored the first goal of the period. The hard checking tykes continued their rampage with goals from Luca Mazzo, Saville (2) and Impey (3). In the third period, the Excelsiors were able to finally score their first goal. The Bandits never let up, this frustrated Brampton who started taking retaliation penalties which allowed Liam Rebellato, Impey (4) and Tyler Ellis to score. Bandits win 12-2. For a challenge, head coach Ted Rybka scheduled an exhibition game against the Brampton 1 Excelsiors! The tykes got off to an early start when Rebellato scored and then Saville. Brampton managed to score four to go ahead 4-2. With hard work and determination, the Bandits fought back with goals from Impey and Mazzo. Thanks to the stellar goaltending of Eric Becker, the game ended 4-4. The tykes traveled to Mimico for their first away game. The game remained scoreless until half-way through the first period when the Bandits decided to bombard Mimico with goals. Rybka started the flurry with an unassisted goal. The Rebellato brothers scored minutes later, each receiving the perfect pass from the Mora brothers. Radisa scored two more along with Ronald Rout to end the second period. The second period saw Mimco's lone goal. The third period started quickly with Keaton Wilson scoring on a breakaway and Tyler Ellis and Christopher Mora finishing off the night each with a goal. Samantha Hillson and Eric Becker were brilliant in goal for the Bandits. Bandits win 9-1. The peewees started their away season with a trip to Oakville to play the Raiders. Oakville came out and scored two goals, but the Bandit peewees answered back with beauty of a goal by Nicholas Rybka. With only two minutes left in the period Carter Cummings scored to make the score 3-2 Oakville at the end of the first. The second period was all Bandits! Goals flooded in from Adam Northey (2), Sam McCanna and Cummings (3). Strong goaltending by Andrew Paton allowed the Raiders to only score once this period. The third period saw a couple of more goals by the Raiders, but the Bandits continued to apply pressure with Domenico Mazzo scoring twice. Goals also came from James Sammut and Cummings ending the night with his fourth. Bandits win 11-6. The peewee game against Acton was a back and forth battle in the first period. Goal scorers were Northey, Cummings and Grayson Williams. The Bandits showed great defensive play and passing to dominate the rest of the game. Goals came from Rybka, Northey (2), Justin Huggins and Rybka finished the night with his second of the game. Bandits win 7-5. Head coach for both the tyke 1 and peewee teams, Ted Rybka, was very proud of the effort by his teams this year. Both these teams are looking forward to an exciting season.
