Closer games emerge in ball hockey loop

There were some closer games last week as teams start to gel and get geared up for the round robin in IBHL action.

May 22

Gould Fasteners 4,

CEAV 2

Gould exploded with 4 in the first to handle CEAV. Scoring for Gould were Matt Greco from Steve Corrgia, Sean Thompson from Pierre Philipon and Justin Dixon, Rob Horton from Craig Size and Corrgia, and Corrgia from Philipon. CEAV lamp lighters were Steve Keegstra from Nick Bowes- Henry and Kyle Wonfor (unassisted).

Blue Team 4,

Valleywood Longhorns 2

Blue was able to come back from a twogoal deficit and show the young ones why they have been champs so often. Valleywood snipers were Lucas Simonetta and Andrew Parps, with assists from Parps, Adam Minatel, Mike Sagona and Ryan Spiteri. Blue net nabbers were Tom Laurenza from Geoff Christie, Lee Erwin (unassisted), Owen Speirs from Corey Heron, and Christie from Laurenza.

Freezerland 2,

Mr. Handyman 1

In a nail-biter Freezerland garnered their first win with a squeaker over Mr. Handyman. Bin bulgers for Freezerland were Joey Blanchard from Jason Cullihall, and Kristen Hann from Quinton Oatts and Blanchard. Mr. Handyman's lone hammer came from Marcio Rodrigues with assists from Terek Maamari and Claudio Ramalo.

May 24 Carney Plumbing 6,

B. Andrews Truck 4

Carney took full advantage of the heat Thursday and garnered a win over B. Andrews. Bryan Sinclair from Chris Taylor and Mike Zimmerman got he Carney ball rolling, with Zimmerman from Brandon Looby and Kevin Alves, Alves from Shawn Lane and Looby, Lane from Colin Gosling and Brian Dunn, Kelly Regan from Gosling and Zimmerman, and Zimmerman from Regan following. B. Andrews bin bulgers were Boyd Andrews (unassisted), Mike Vatcher from Chris Purchase and Korbin Purchase Sr., junior Gillard from Shawn Bussey and Andrews, and C. Purchase from Korbin Purchase Jr. and Dion Stuckless.

Lockyer Harrison Law 3,

Sports Unlimited 3

In a tight one no team was able to better the other. LH Law tent ticklers were Mike Garvie from Mitch Nail, Ryan Wilde from Garvie, and Chris Bajc from Trevor Rotenberg and Anthony Cancella. Sports goto guys were Tony Sousa from Claudio Campoli and Brad Bunn, Aidan Maloney from Rob Sytsma and Steve Sauve, and Adam Montgomery from Maloney and Sousa.

Damian Fletcher stood tall between the pipes as he earned his 2nd goose egg of the year. Net nabbers for Blue were Shaun Heron, Owen Speirs (2), Craig Shaw, Lee Erwin and Seth Fletcher. Assists were awarded to Wade Speirs, John Uren, Todd Elson, Erwin, Heron, Matt Speirs, Tom Laurenza and O. Speirs.
