The Royal Canadian Legion is the largest service organization in Canada. It's mission is to serve veterans, exservice persons and their dependents, as well as supporting community activities.
Annually, the Legion contributes financially to seniors' care, youth sports, scholarships and bursaries and hospitals, to name a few.
The source of funding comes largely from their poppy campaign, to which this wonderful community has always steadfastly contributed. Without the valuable assistance of Cadets, these financial donations would not be possible. Their efforts, commitment, hard work and dedication to Branch 371 Bolton and to the poppy campaign are outstanding.
Poppy chair Johnnie Walker presented $1,000 each to Caledon Meals on Wheels, Caledon Seniors' Centre and Caledon Community Services.
