Millcroft Inn & Spa wins 'WOW' award

Ontario's Finest Inns & Spas, an association of the top inns and spas in Ontario, recently held its AGM at The Millcroft. On the agenda was a review of the results of its stringent Quality Assurance Program.

Each member property is inspected anonymously at regular intervals and is evaluated on every aspect of its operation: ambiance and character, initial reservation process, guest greeting, cuisine, guest rooms, public areas and overall hospitality.

For 2007, The Millcroft Inn & Spa received a score of 91%, which was the second highest score in the association. Also, this year Ontario's Finest Inns & Spas inspectors created a new award category - the WOW! Awards. These honours are bestowed upon the member properties that, during inspections, demonstrate an exemplary level of quality or innovation. The Millcroft Inn & Spa is the first-ever recipient of the WOW! Award for the extraordinary quality of its cuisine - under the guidance of executive chef Roberto Fracchioni.

In April, The Millcroft Inn & Spa was also issued the prestigious AAA/CAA Four Diamond Award for the 19th consecutive year for lodgings, and the 12th consecutive year for dining - a feat largely unmatched throughout North America.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) and the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) created the Four Diamond Award in 1977 for lodgings and in 1989 for restaurants. This internationally recognized rating system represents the overall quality of an establishment and was designed to help members choose accommodations and dining experiences that meet their needs and expectations.

The Four Diamond Award is given to those hotels and restaurants that AAA/CAA's professionally trained field evaluators find to be superior. These establishments are recommended for anyone in search of an upscale experience, whether it be dining or lodging.

The Millcroft Inn & Spa is one of only a handful of establishments in Ontario to be recognized for the quality of both its accommodations and dining facilities and services at this level. It is currently

the only establishment in the Hills of Headwaters region that holds this distinction for either category. When one considers the high calibre of the other such establishments in the area, it illuminates the significance of being recognized for providing services and amenities that are considered Four Diamond in quality.
