Forster's Authors' Day draws a huge crowd
Kelley Armstrong brought along her latest book, No Humans Involved and it was offered for sale in advance of its general release. John Steckley's Words of the Huron, a linguistic archeological investigation into 17th century Huron culture also garnered much discussion. Diane Dupuy, with her enthusiasm and booming voice was never without a crowd questioning her about her books and her world renowned "Famous People Players." David Field of Giant Beaver Publications, a company that specializes in helping would-be authors become published, found himself besieged with questions. Other authors in attendance were Catherine Gildiner, Ken Weber, Chris Hamilton, Pete Paterson, Lesley Kelly, David Berger, Elaine Litster, Nicola Ross, Shelley Peterson, Sean Cassidy, Alyxandra Harvey- Fitzhenry, David Chesterton, Mary Morsilli and Daniela Easter. While books were the focus of the day, Billy Munelli of Billy's Best Bottles had a crowd eager to delve into the mysteries of viniculture or at least to sample a taste of the different wines he had brought with him. When asked if there would be a 3rd authors' day, Forster's replied that based on the enthusiasm of both the authors and guests that there most definitely would be. Special thanks to the following people for their help getting ready for Sunday and on Sunday: Ray Manninen, Emma Manninen, Kelley Potter, Mary Maw, Barb Imrie, Sarah Niedoba and Leigh Forster. Many thanks to the Caledon Public Library for the displays, publicity, their never-ending contribution to literacy and the loan of their chairs. A good time was had by all. Many authors have already written expressing their thanks for the great turnout. |
