Caledon student runners excel at Conestoga meet

he Caledon Central team continues to be one of the top schools in Peel region with several top-10 finishes in most races.
Thursday, May 10 the student population of Conestoga Public School in Brampton increased to more than 2,000 students! Fiftytwo schools from the north end of the Peel, 2,040 students and their teachers attended the biggest cross country meet the school has ever had.

Caledon runners figured prominently in the top five placings in all categories.

In grade 3 girls, Caledon Central's Lauren Bowbotham was second; Herb Campbell's Renee Steenge took 3rd; Lauren Augustin of Caledon Central was 4th and Belfountain's Rachel Hansen was 5th.

In grade 3 boys, Caledon Central's Ben Simon was 3rd, while Alloa's Luke Square took 5th.

In grade 4 girls, Herb Campbell's Rebecca Letourneau-Duxnstee was 5th.

Alton's Simon Tejani was 3rd in grade 4 boys.

Shelby Wong was 3rd for Caledon Central in grade 5 girls.

Herb Campbell's Kyle Cochrane took 1st in grade 5 boys, while Ellwood's Jacob Skrinar was 3rd.

Caledon Central's Ryan Chan-Yaneff won the grade 6 race, by a huge margin.
In grade 6 girls, Alloa's Hayley Square was 3rd, while Caledon Central's Christina Burden took 5th.

Ryan Chan-Yaneff was 1st for Caledon Central in grade 6 boys.
