School board volunteers honoured

The Peel District School Board honoured more than 400 volunteers with a special reception at the HJA Brown Education Centre May 16. Those honoured have volunteered in Peel for at least five years or are community members on board committees and the recipients included several Caledon residents.

"Five years or more of volunteer service to the schools and children of Peel is definitely a commitment worth celebrating," said board chair Janet McDougald. "By providing an extra set of eyes, one-onone reading time or professional advice to an important committee, our volunteers have created a strong link between school and community and are helping to nurture student success. They give so much, and this is our chance to give something back to them - to really show how much we appreciate them."
