Rash of stolen vehicles during the week

Caledon OPP Officers responded to 19 property damage and two personal injury collisions during the week of May 7-13.

High Miler

of the Week

Sunday, May 13, at roughly 11:55 a.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Highway 10 near The Grange Sideroad in Caledon. Veronica Stahurski, 34, of Brampton, was charged with Speeding- 140 km-h in an 80-km-h posted zone. Court date for the 60-kilometre-over charge is set for June 21.

Break & Enter

Monday, May 7, sometime over the weekend construction materials were stolen from the site of a home under construction on Proctor Avenue. A large quantity of baseboards, trim moulding and tools have been reported stolen from the home.

Monday, May 7, an attempt to enter a business on Airport Road resulted in damages to the rear door of the store. The culprit(s) didn't gain entry to the building.

Friday, May 11, a glass front door of an Airport Road business was smashed. Entry to the business wasn't made.

Mischief

Thursday, May 10, three youths were seen tearing the lattice work off of the Inglewood gazebo at roughly 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 12, two vehicles were damaged during the evening hours while left parked at a business parking lot on Innis Lake Road. The vehicles both had windows smashed.

Sunday, May 13, a vehicle window was damaged when the van was left parked at a trailway parking lot on Kennedy Road.

Sunday, May 13, a sharp object was used to scratch two cars while the cars were left parked on Royal Valley Drive in Valleywood.

Stolen Vehicle

Monday, May 7, a new vehicle was stolen from a dealership in Bolton sometime over the weekend.

Monday, May 7, sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. a locked vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a Centreville Creek Road home.

Friday, May 11, a motor scooter was reported stolen from a Glasgow Road residence in Bolton.

Saturday, May 12, a camper trailer was reported stolen from a business parking lot on Regional Road 50 sometime overnight. The trailer had been placed on cinder blocks and chained to the blocks.

A pickup truck located at another business on Regional Road 50 was also stolen sometime that same night.

Theft

Tuesday, May 8, a wallet was stolen from a parked vehicle on Blue Horizon Court in Caledon village.

Criminal Charges

Saturday, May 12, a vehicle stop at Albion Vaughan Road and Dovaston Gate in Bolton resulted in a criminal charge for the driver. The vehicle was stopped for a RIDE spot check. The driver, 42-year-old Mahadeo Hotiram of Caledon, was charged with Drive Disqualified and the vehicle he was driving was seized for 45 days under the Vehicle Impoundment Program. He will appear in court June 21.

OPP Property

Live Auction

Caledon OPP will host a live auction Saturday, May 26, with a 9:30 a.m. start. It will be held at the Caledon OPP Detachment, 6211 Old Church Rd., in the parking lot. The auction will include bicycles and miscellaneous articles and property is sold "as is."

All moneys raised are submitted to Town of Caledon to be used to sponsor community events and projects within the Town of Caledon.

Domestic Disputes

Caledon OPP officers responded to five domestic disputes between May 8 and 13. Charges were laid in Caledon May 8 and 9 and in Palgrave May 13.
