Expense allowance unchanged

There will be no change in the total expense allowance for members of Caledon council.

The individual expense allowances (mileage, etc.) are $13,000 for the mayor, $5,000 for regional councillors and $3,400 for area councillors.

Under general governance expense allowance, the mayor's limits are $2,000 for office supplies, $5,000 for training/conferences, $4,400 for printing/ advertising and $500 for public relations.

The general governance expense allowances for regional and area councillors are $300 for office supplies, $1,000 for training/conferences, $550 for printing/advertising and $400 for public relations.

If the individual expense allowance account reaches the maximum, the coverage may be taken from available funds in the other council expense/governance accounts with approval from the treasurer.
