Community festivals are designated

Many local events were recently designated community festivals for special occasion permits by Caledon council.

They include Inglewood Day, June 16; Albion Bolton Agricultural Society Tractor Pull, June 29; Canada Day and Strawberry Festival, July 1; Cheltenham Day, July 7; Midnight Madness in Bolton and Valleywood Corn Festival, Aug. 18; Caledon Fall Fair, Sept. 7-9; Brampton Fall Fair, Sept. 13- 16; Terra Cotta Day, Sept. 15; Bolton Fall Fair, Sept. 21-23; Belfountain Salamander Festival and Alton 185th Celebration, Sept. 29.

If these groups serve or sell liquor they require a special occasion permit. The cost of the permit for a community festival event recognized by council resolution is $75 for three consecutive days as opposed to other events which cost $75 per day.

A community festival is recognized and attended by the community and is not a personal or family-type event. It's an event the Town recognizes or participates in.
