OPP Report Caledon OPP Officers responded to 15 property damage and one personal injury collision during the week of April 30 to May 6. High Miler of the Week Thursday, May 3, at roughly 9:52 p.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on King Street near Chinguacousy Road in Caledon. David Heydon, 53, of Caledon, was charged with Speeding-152 km/h in an 80-km/h posted zone. Court date for the 72-km over charge is set for June 14. Alcohol & Driving Monday, April 30, a motor vehicle collision on Bramalea Road resulted in charges for one of the involved drivers. Gerardo Rizzardo, 57, of Caledon, was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Court date has been set for May 31. Thursday, May 3, a traffic stop on Healey Road and Humber Station Road resulted in criminal charges for the driver, 56-year-old Brad Baughman of Caledon. He was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. Court date has been set for June 14. Thursday, May 3, a traffic complaint on Highway 10 near Escarpment Sideroad led to the arrest of the driver. Kuk Hyo Bae, 42, of Wiarton, was charged with Impaired Driving, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Speeding. He will appear in court June 21. Friday, May 4, a traffic stop on Regional Road 50 near Nashville Road resulted in criminal charges for the driver. Edward Halasa, 50, of Mississauga, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. Court date is set for June 12. Saturday, May 5, a traffic stop on Highway 9 near Highway 10 led to a criminal charge for 21-year-old Adam Sprague of Orangeville. He will appear in court June 7 charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and Class G2 Licence Holder-Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero. Saturday, May 5, 23-yearold Jonathan MacVicar of Caledon was charged with the criminal offence of Failure to Provide Breath Sample-Approved Screening Device and the Highway Traffic Act offence of Drive While Under Suspension following a vehicle stop on Queen Street near Queensgate Boulevard in Bolton. Court date is set for June 14. Saturday, May 5, 24-yearold Amanda Konieczny of Caledon was charged following a traffic complaint on Mayfield Road near The Gore Road. She was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and will appear in court June 7. Sunday, May 6, a traffic stop on King Street near Airport Road led to charges for the driver, 51-year-old Tomo Faukovic of Brampton. He will appear in court June 14 charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. Break & Enter Thursday, May 3, during the daytime hours, a home on Mount Hope Road in Caledon was entered. Food and cash were reported stolen. Thursday, May 3, a Heart Lake Road residence was entered during the daytime hours by prying open the front door. Damages were caused to the home, however nothing appears to be missing. Drugs Thursday, May 3, Caledon officers arrested three males in a downtown Bolton parking lot for drug offences. Brian Zahorodny, 20, of Caledon, was charged with Trafficking-Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana. Matthew Masters, 23, of Caledon was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana. Both men will appear in court June 4. Mischief Monday, April 30, several windows and glass doors were damaged at Ellwood Memorial public school over the weekend. It's suspected that a BB gun was used to cause the damage to the school. Stolen Vehicle Tuesday, May 1, an older model locked red van was stolen from a grocery store parking lot while the owner was away shopping for roughly 15 minutes. The van was recovered in the Toronto area two days later. Damage was caused to the door handle and the ignition. Wednesday, May 2, a vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Toronto area was recovered abandoned in a parking lot off Queen Street in Bolton. Theft Tuesday, May 1, a purse was reported stolen from a locked vehicle after the rear driver side window was smashed. The incident occurred during daytime hours while the vehicle was left parked in a golf course parking lot on Regional Road 50. Tuesday, May 1, two lap top computers were stolen sometime overnight from a locked office on King Street in Bolton. OPP holds Property Auction A live auction will be held by Caledon OPP Saturday, May 26, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the OPP detachment on Old Church Road in Caledon East. Live auction of bicycles and miscellaneous articles. Cash accepted only. Property is sold "as is" and items sold must be removed that day. All moneys raised are submitted to Town of Caledon to be used to sponsor community events and projects within the Town of Caledon. Seat belt Campaign During the two-week seat belt campaign, Caledon officers worked hard to raise the awareness regarding the importance of wearing seat belts as well as proper use of child restraints in vehicles. A total of 58,811 seat belts were checked and 229 child car seats. A total of 324 seat belt charges were laid, and two child seat charges. Domestic Disputes Caledon OPP officers responded to eight domestic disputes between April 30 and May 6. Charges were laid in Bolton April 30 and May 4 and in Caledon East May 6. |
