Liberal candidate Skid Crease discusses climate change 'cover-up' Skid Crease, federal Liberal candidate, will be hosting a series of exciting town hall meetings within the riding of Dufferin- Caledon in order to discuss the issues that are affecting the citizens. The next one will be held May 22, entitled The Great Climate Change Cover-Up. Discover how our government was lobbied to a standstill on relevant policies for climate change by a group of contrarian Friends of Big Oil. Learn how Stephen Harper's core values of absolute denial shift as the public polls suddenly put climate change concerns at the top of the electoral agenda. Skid Crease has been involved with climate change studies since the 1980s. "I was absolutely astounded that a leader in this day and age would silence his best research scientists, silence the voices of the youth who will inherit this planet, and remove legitimate information and incentives from the Canadian people. There is no room for an environmentally illiterate government in the 21st Century," said Crease. This town hall will basically present "everything you wanted to know about climate change but were afraid to ask," with a special foreword by David Suzuki, and a preview of Skid's world famous presentation, The Turn of the Tide, the forerunner of An Inconvenient Truth. Former Dufferin-Caledon Liberal MP Murray Calder will be the moderator of the Town Hall meeting; Brent Fullard will be joined by MP John MacKay as a guest speaker. Please join Skid May 22 at the Monora Park Pavilion in Orangeville from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event is no charge, and a question and answer period will follow. For more information contact Skid Crease at www.skidcrease.ca or Neil Orford, riding association president, at 519-217-0402. |
