Liberals hold local cleanup

"Let's stop talking about the environment and do something about it," said Neil Orford, president of the Dufferin-Caledon Federal Liberal Association. Dennis Adair, president of the Dufferin-Caledon Provincial Association, agreed.

May 5, 25 members of both associations joined forces to clean a stretch of Highway 10 beginning at Mistywood Drive and heading north toward Orangeville. Paul Flynn, a Director of both associations arranged for Dufferin-Caledon Liberals to become part of the Adopt-A-Highway Program.

Skid Crease, the federal candidate for Dufferin-Caledon, and Betsy Hall, who is seeking the provincial nomination both joined in. "This was well worth the effort! It would be great to see all the other party candidates out here, too. It's a long highway and there's lot's of trash."

In fact, it turned out that plastic water bottles, which should have ended up in recycling bins, were the dominant item littering the roadsides. The clean-up crew wants to unanimously thank Pizza Hut in Orangeville for the wonderful lunch!
