Driver needed to be extricated

Thursday, April 19 at about 3:45 p.m. a car and a tractor-trailer unit were involved in a collision on Holland Drive.

Upon arrival Caledon fire crews found the lone occupant of the car was trapped in the driver's seat and required extrication.

Caledon fire crews worked about 30 minutes to free the driver while Peel EMS Paramedics provided patient care. Fire crews also worked to contain a diesel fuel spill from a ruptured fuel tank on the truck.

The driver of the car was transported to Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville with unknown injuries and the driver of the truck was uninjured.

The incident is under investigation by OPP.

Agencies responding included Bolton Fire Station, Peel EMS, Air Ambulance, Caledon OPP and Region of Peel Spills.
