Fashionable Caledon

If you are planning to attend the Off the Rack fashion show and tea at Mayfield Secondary School this Saturday, you will be lucky enough to see the work of a budding Canadian designer.

Danielle Dehne, a Grade 11 Regional Arts student at Mayfield, represented Peel Region in the women's apparel division of the 18th Ontario Technological Skills Competition held in Waterloo. She was the only Peel District School Board student chosen to compete.

At the same time, Danielle has been preparing her designs to be part of Off the Rack. Friend and fellow student Britny Rode has joined Danielle in organizing student participation in the fashion show and encouraging other student designers and models. Accomplished multi-taskers, Danielle designed the promotional poster and Britny the program for the event.

Local retailers From Closet to Closet, Granny Taught Us How, Klementine Design and Outback & Co. also will be featuring fashions - and models - for the "no longer a student" set. Chatting over tea and home baked goodies will be encouraged after the show.

Come out and join women of all ages to support the work of St. James Anglican Church in Caledon East, and enjoy a memorable Mother's Day weekend outing.

The show begins at 1:30 p.m. at Mayfield Saturday, May 12. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at the school, at the church, at Berney's Hardware in Caledon East or at the door on Saturday.
