Humberview music Showcase this Thursday

The staff and students of Humberview Music cordially invite family, friends, and members of the community who enjoy music and love the arts to join them Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Humberview School for Showcase.

For more than 20 years, the students involved in Humberview Music have excelled at regional, national and international music festivals. They have been guest performers at Magic Kingdom, they have performed at competitions across the country. And they want you to join them as they showcase this breadth and scope of talent.

It promises to be a great evening featuring a variety of musical styles and a range of ensembles. If your tastes run to vocal music you'll love Mkosa, the vocal jazz ensemble, and the stylings of the concert choir. Jazz-lovers will also be delighted by Mkosa, along with the sounds of the jazz combo, Jazzork and the Junior Jazz group. Traditionalists will enjoy the offerings of the Senior Concert Band and the Intermediate Wind Ensemble. And if your tradition runs in the direction of world music, you'll be thrilled by the sounds of the Percussion Ensemble.

In short, whatever your musical preferences, you will enjoy this celebration.

Tickets are available by contacting John Chalmers at 905-857-0771, ext. 505, through any music student or at the door. General admission is $8 with tickets for students and seniors offered for $5.

"The music program is a huge part of the success story of the Humberview and the title of this concert, 'Showcase,' says it all," according to performing arts head, John Chalmers. "We hope the whole community will join us as we showcase the talents of nearly two hundred committed students."
