Gould wins first two IBHL games The first week of Inglewood Ball Hockey League action saw new team Gould Fasteners win their first two games. April 24 Blue Team 5, Sports Unlimited 2 In a rematch from the championship game of 2006, Blue extracted revenge on Sports with a win. Scoring for the Blue squad were Ian Wilkinson (1g, 2a), Matt Speirs (2a), Corey Heron (1g), Wade Speirs (1g), Matt Wilkinson (1a), Shawn Heron (1g, 1a), Brad Speirs (1a), Tom Laurenza (1a) and Craig Shaw (1g). Sports' bright lights were Nelson Medeiros and Brad Bunn, with helpers from Claudio Campoli, Steve Sauve and Aiden Maloney. Gould Fasteners 5, Lockyer Harrison Law 0 In their first game Gould got the first shutout of the year as Paul Felker turned away all shots for the gooseegg. Gould goal-getters were Sean Thompson with a hat trick, and Justin Dixon and Jason Puopolo with singles. Assists were from the sticks of Dixon (3), Dave Stemmel, and Joe D'Sousa. Carney Plumbing 7, Caledon East Audio Video 3 Carney came to play and showed no mercy against the short benched CEAV crew. Brian Dunn opened the scoring from Colin Gosling and Mike Zimmerman for Carney. Gosling from Dunn and Kevin Alves, Dunn from Zimmerman and Derek Carroll (goalie), Gosling from Alves and Brandon Looby, Shawn Lane from Derek Lockerbie and Chris Taylor, Brennan Grange (unassisted) and Alves from Gosling and Zimmerman rounded out Carney's offence. CEAV got counters from Alex Ball, Brock Mercer and Chris Teeter, with helpers from Ball, Teeter (2), & Curtis Gregson (2). April 26 Longhorns 9, B. Andrews Truck Centre 3 In Valleywood's first league appearance they showed no mercy while lighting the lamp. Scoring for the Longhorns were Adam Minatel, Matt McKay, Domenic D'Ettore and Andrew Parps. Assists went to Parps, Minatel, D'Ettore, McKay, Ryan Spiteri, Matt Boldrin, Mike Sagona, and Lucas Simonetta. B. Andrews Truck lighters were Boyd Andrews from Shawn Bussey, Korbin Purchase Sr. from Dion Stuckless and Paul, and Junior Gillard from Stuckless and Rod Sacrey. Gould Fasteners 5, Freezerland 2 Gould continued on their roll with a win over Freezerland. Leading the red light brigade for Gould was Justin Dixon with a brace, Craig Size, Sean Thompson and Jason Puopolo with singles. Helpers came from Thompson (2), Dave Stemmel (3), Joe D'Sousa, Puopolo, Size and Rob Horton. Freezerland bin-bulgers were Kristen Hann from Jason Cullihall and Ted Donaldson from Hann and Cullihall. Mr. Handyman 4, CEAV 3 Mr. Handyman squeaked out a win with fewer than 60 seconds left on the clock. Handyman hammers were dropped by Michael Cerveira, Emile Ferlis, Claudio Ramalo, and Steve Ceizler. Assists were from Bobby Evong, Luca Zelikovic, Paul Medeiros, and Quincy Trim. CEAV pluggers were Alex Ball, Chris Teeter and Brock Hill; helpers came from Hill, Brad Davis, Curtis Gregson, and Ball. |
