Many firsts for Mayfield

Mayfield's track and field team had some great results in a meet held at Chinguacousy Park, April 24.

In the senior girls 100 metres, Jeannette Goode finished first overall, while Alex Anderson was second.

Other first-place finishes went to Taylor Reid in the junior boys 1,500 and 3,000 metres, Julie Sheppard in the midget girls 800 metres, Karly Roberts and Maddie Hill tying in the junior girls 1,500 metres, Hill in the junior girls 800 metres, Ritchea Hodges in the senior girls 200 metres, Kerri-Ann Delaney in the senior girls 3,000 metres, Stephen Alli in both the 100 metres and 200 metres, and the senior girls relay team.

Karly Roberts was second in the junior girls 800 metres.

Amy McClure placed second in midget girls long jump. Nicole McClure was second overall in the senior girls 400 metres.

Matt Alexandropoulos finished third overall in the junior boys 200 metres.

The junior girls relay team came in third and the junior boys relay team placed fifth.

There were many other top-six finishes.
