Woman killed in collision

Saturday, April 28, at roughly 8:28 p.m. Caledon OPP and Emergency Services responded to single motor vehicle collision on Main Street, north of Highpoint Sideroad in Caledon.

Police report the Hyundai was traveling southbound on Main Street when the vehicle left the roadway coming to a rest off the east side of the road.

Tragically, the collision claimed the life of the driver, 21- year-old Miranda Coish of Orangeville, who was pronounced at the scene.

The two passengers in the motor vehicle suffered injuries. Twenty-year-old Taryn Henry of Dufferin Township was transported to Headwaters Hospital and then airlifted to Sunnybrook Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries. She remains in intensive care at Sunnybrook. Twenty-oneyear old Bradley Shell of Orangeville was also transported to Headwaters Hospital and later transported to Sunnybrook Medical Centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for six hours for on-scene investigative purposes. The investigation is continuing and any witnesses are urged to contact the lead investigator, Constable A. Munro at Caledon OPP, 905-584-2241.
