Community members have heart
By Gina Iaboni

Carine Strong, Linda Giorgio and Anna Cavalcante (far right) are angels to Gina Iaboni (3rd from left).
Bolton - a well known growing town - is really a beautiful place to live.

This real life story truly defines the beauty of where we live. It was all initiated by a woman with a huge heart. Her drive and determination made it easy for others in the community to want to reach out and help.

What do you get when you take a team of angels and a mission?

You get a home makeover that includes a gorgeous facelift. Their project was primarily to paint and accessorize my house in just five days while I had been on a Caribbean cruise with my beautiful mother. I have been living with multiple sclerosis for several years and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Project Angels began with my best friend of 10+ years, hairstylist Linda Giorgio of Bolton. Linda never has a task too big for her wings. In other words, when she puts her mind to something, there's no stopping her! She organized my home makeover and worked endless hours to ensure the project would be completed on time. Where do you here of something like this?

The Project Angels team also included Anna Cavalcante and Carine Strong, both of Husky Injection Molding Systems. They devoted their time, painted furniture, decorated and even had time to bake homemade "goodies." They made time out of their full time schedules with work and family to contribute voluntarily.

Nick Giorgio also assisted by doing electrical work and other odds and ends.

The living room, kitchen and master bedroom all got a fresh coat of paint, special thanks to Randy Milford of Richmond Hill. Marianna Cappola made beautiful curtains, a throw and matching pillows for the master bedroom.

The Bolton community truly came together to help with this very special mission. Many Husky employees (too many to mention) helped with donations. Let's Decorate supplied paint for the house, Giant Tiger and Liquidation World also supported Linda's goodwill and generosity. A special thanks to Debbie Malevris, director of fund-raising with Caledon Community Services for her continued support and passion with this project.

Lovely pictures of my two daughters adorn the walls. Furniture, accessories, prints and fresh flowers turned my house into a warm and cozy home.

Caledon is a special community. There really are a lot of kind-hearted and generous people out there. This remarkable woman, Linda Giorgio, truly exemplifies what the meaning of true friendship is all about.

I thank God every day for many things, especially my friends. They are truly one of your greatest gifts!
