House fire April 22

Sunday, April 22, at approximately 13:15 hours,

Caledon Fire & Emergency Services responded to a report of a house fire received from a 9- 1-1 call. The caller reported smoke and flames from the rear of the home, at 17 Tanglewood Dr.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire at the rear of the home extending to the second floor. The water tanker shuttle was implemented and additional assistance was requested due to the intensity of the fire.

Fire crews conducted an interior fire attack on both floors of the home and were able to contain the fire sufficiently to allow other crews to enter for an interior search. All occupants were accounted for. The home was equipped with properly installed and operating smoke alarms.

The fire damage was extensive on the second floor and roof due to the advanced fire conditions prior to the fire crews arriving. There were no injuries.

The cause is under investigation and damage is estimated at $100,000.

Agencies responding included Mono Mills, Caledon East, Caledon Village and Palgrave fire stations, Caledon OPP, Dufferin EMS.
