Dufferin-Peel to hold public meetings regarding 2007/08 budget

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is holding a series of town hall-style public consultations as part of its deliberations for the board's 2007-08 budget.

Meetings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 301 at the Catholic Education Centre, 40 Matheson Blvd. West, Mississauga April 30, May 9 and May 10.

Parents/guardians and community members are welcome to attend one of these meetings to make a presentation or provide input.

Those interested must register in advance if you would like to make a presentation, or provide comments. Each presenter will have a maximum of five minutes to make their presentation. Deadlines for registering to make a presentation are: April 25 (for April 30 session), May 4 (for May 9 session) and May 5 (for May 10 session).

Those who cannot attend are welcome to provide input through the board Web site at www.dpcdsb.org Comments received through this channel will not be addressed at one of the public consultation meetings, but will be considered as part of the overall budget deliberations.

A copy of a staff report outlining current issues and budget pressures will be available on the Web site after April 24. Interested parties are encouraged to read the report prior to presenting at one of the meetings.
