Barn sale bargains support charity Be sure you don't miss the annual spring Kids & Horses Foundation Barn Sale Extravaganza April 21. The only thing "barn" about this sale is its location! There will be something for every wallet there. Held again at Coffey Creek Farm, everything from hand-made jewellery and gifts, to unique clothing, handbags and hats, one-of-a-kind house and garden furnishing items and the White Elephant table will be featured at great prices. Caledon East's Deb Usher will be one of several jewellers participating with handmade silver and stone settings, and their prices start as low as $15. Unique hats, both casual and worthy of the Queen's Plate or Ascot will also be for sale and some might even tempt Red Hat Society members! The sale will also be a good spot to snaffle unique garden furniture from Element 55 Designs and Plant Paradise Country Gardens before the outdoor entertaining season starts! Hatley clothing seconds at fire sale prices; handbags, cashmere and leather fashions will all be available as well. Don't miss the gorgeous pottery from local artist Arlene Peters either! These are just a few of the participants. In all, some 26 vendors will be showing their wares for purchase. Entertainment, including a fortune teller, will round out the day. The sale takes place Saturday, April 21 at Coffey Creek Farm, 17886 The Gore Rd., Caledon East, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. For information please call 905-584-5838. Proceeds from the sale will go to fund the Kids & Horses Foundation whose riding camps, regular lessons and scholarship programs enrich the lives of motivated children, who would otherwise never have the opportunity of participating in equine pursuits. Over the recent March Break, the foundation was able to send 16 such Peel area children to riding camp. Kids & Horses Foundation is now working with Caledon and Peel social service agencies to send kids to summer riding camp. Caledon and Peel families who would like to send their children to the summer riding camp offered by the Caledon parks and recreation department, but may need some help financially can also apply. Please contact the foundation at 905-880-8711. |
