OPP Report Caledon OPP Officers responded to 18 property damage and two personal injury collisions during the week of April 2-9. Two High Milers at 65-over Monday, April 2, at approximately 1:13 a.m., Caledon OPP Officer Girouard observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Highway 9 near Regional Road 50 in Caledon. Sixtyfive year-old Laslo Harsanyi of Caledon was charged with Speeding-145 km/hour in an 80-km/hour posted zone. Court date for the 65-km over charge is set for May 3. Thursday, April 5, at approximately 2:11 p.m., Officer Bernier observed a motor vehicle traveling in the same location of Highway 9 and Regional Road 50 at a high rate of speed. Forty-seven-year-old Steven Vipond of Orangeville was stopped and charged with Speeding-145 km/hour in an 80 km/hour posted zone. Court date for the 65-km over charge is set for May 17. Alcohol & Driving Friday, April 6, a vehicle stop on Highway 10 near Charleston Sideroad led to the arrest of the driver. Forty-seven-year-old Robert McGill of Shelburne was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. He will appear in court May 10. Sunday, April 8, officers conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on King Street near Caledon-King Townline arrested and charged a driver who was stopped at the check point. Thirty-seven year-old Paul Regular of Innisfil was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. He will appear in court May 10. Break & Enter Monday, April 2, a custodian from a school in Alton reported that several portables were entered sometime over the weekend. The vandals caused minor damages. Monday, April 2, a vacant home on Columbia Way was entered sometime over the weekend. The vandals caused extensive damages to the interior of the home. Saturday, March 31, a front glass door of a business on Queen Street was smashed allowing entry into the premise. The business was entered and cash was taken from the register. Mischief Monday, April 2, damages were caused to two vehicles parked in a driveway on Taylorwood Avenue in Bolton, when someone attempted to break into them. The vehicles were not entered, however, the door handles and paint were damaged during the attempt. Tuesday, April 3, a report was made of damages caused to a mailbox on McLaughlin Road in Caledon. Thursday, April 5, 31- year-old Dunia Somo of Caledon was charged with Mischief-Under $5,000 following an investigation involving an attempt theft of the merchandise from a Bolton retail business on Queensgate Blvd. A court date has been set for May 3. Theft Tuesday, April 3, a tailgate was stolen from a pickup truck that was parked overnight at a Taylorwood Drive residence in Bolton. Friday, April 6, a food delivery man's report of theft led to the arrest of a 17- year-old Caledon male. A delivery of food was made to a Ewart Street location at which time a male youth accepted the food and then fled on foot without paying. The delivery man followed the youth and prevented him from leaving in a vehicle that was waiting around the corner. Police were called, the food was retrieved and the youth was charged with Theft-Under $5,000. He will appear in court on May 7. Four other youths in the car were given police warnings due to their involvement in the incident. Recovered Vehicle Friday, March 30, three tractor-trailer units were reported stolen from a business on Healey Road during the night hours. Two of the tractor-trailer units were recovered in the area of Vaughan that same day, empty of their loads. The third tractor-trailer unit is still outstanding. Domestic Disputes OPP officers responded to nine domestic disputes between April 3-8. Charges were laid in Mayfield West April 8. Caledon OPP officers responded to seven domestic disputes between March 29 and April 1. Charges were laid in Bolton March 29 and 30. |
