Students in historical fair

April 19, students from schools across Peel will participate in the second annual Peel Region Heritage Fair at Mississauga City Hall as part of the Historica Fairs Program. A public viewing of student exhibits will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. with closing ceremonies at 8 p.m.

Through the Historica Fairs Program, students are encouraged to explore Canadian heritage in a hands-on learning environment. Students tell stories about Canadian heroes, legends, milestones and achievements through different media displayed in a public exhibition.

Eighty students from Grades 4 to 9 will be pre-selected to compete in this year's Peel Region Heritage Fair. Participating schools include Homestead Public School and Lougheed Middle School in Brampton; Belfountain Public School in Caledon; and Dolphin Senior Public School, Fairwind Senior Public School, Lyndwood Public School and The Valley Middle School in Mississauga.

For more information about Historica or the Peel Heritage Complex, call 905-791-4055 or visit their Web site at peelheritagecomplex.org.
