The midget/juveniles wrapped up their season Sunday, April 1 at Mayfield arena.

Rival teams of Soft Design, coached by Peter Hill, and Access Career Solutions, coached by John Borshovou, faced each other in a hard-fought exciting game at the championship final.

Late in the first period, Steve Whitten of Access redirected a hard shot from blue liner Marcus Doherty into the back of the Soft Design net to get things going. Two quick goals from Brandon Scott and Andy Sants put Soft Design up 2-1 early in the third period.

However, the Access team came back with an unassisted goal from Matt MacDonald to tie the game. Whitten got the go-ahead goal for Access, assisted by Luke Howkins. Then in a nifty passing play with Luke Ashworth, Whitten scored his third of the night. Kevin Wigner took the puck all on his own and sunk the fifth Access goal. Marcus Schmidt scored Soft Design's third goal with only seconds remaining. Final score was a 5-3 victory for Access Career Solutions.

The Access defensive team of Marcus Doherty, Trevor Cation, James Jennison and Graham McKinley played confidently, clearing the puck out of their zone time and time again. Goalie Matt Robinson was as usual, solid in net, making several key saves. Forwards Michael Borshovou, Ben Truss, George Nottle, and Dave Woodcock kept the game at a fast tempo while Nottle and Borshovou both had great scoring chances. Most Sportsmanlike for Access was presented to Marcus Doherty. Steve Whitten was awarded Most Dedicated and James Jennison received the Most Improved Player award. Great season boys!
