Free tree planting workshop

Learn how to properly plant trees, from preparing the ground for planting, to the follow up required getting your trees free-to-grow.

Keep your calendars open on Saturday, April 14, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. for a workshop for people wishing to learn the fine art of planting trees well.

This half-day workshop, planned and hosted by Halton-Peel Woodlands and Wildlife Stewardship (HPWWS), Town of Caledon, York Environmental Stewardship (YES), and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) will be held at the Caledon Community Complex, located at 6215 Old Church Road.

Hear from foresters who will explain the site requirements of various trees, how to care for the trees before they are planted, and what post-planting attention is needed.

This workshop received funding support from the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation and will have representatives from the other western Headwaters project area partners in attendance with their project information and displays.

There is no cost to attend but you're asked to pre-register. For more information and to register for this workshop, please contact Greg Bales with the HPWWS at 905-713-7410, or e-mail greg.bales@ontario.ca or Todd Smith with Town of Caledon at 905-584-2272 ext. 4186, todd.smith@caledon. ca.
