Dufferin Aggregates commissions Caledon East artist Laura Tomona
Laura's piece was commissioned to celebrate the Ontario Cabinet approval to expand the Quarry, adding another 20 years to the operation. This decision is a significant milestone in the history of the Milton Quarry. The expansion project spanned 10 years and required input from several technical experts. The piece, titled Dufferin Aggregates Milton Quarry Escarpment Wetlands, was painted in acrylics on canvas. Tomona is completing her first year in the bachelor of Fine Arts Program at the University of Guelph. While she claims to have no particular influence for her work, she does say that her style is very much rooted in realism. Dufferin Aggregates looks forward to celebrating more of artistic achievements as her career advances. To see more of her art visit her Web page at h t t p : / / a r t e m - anima.deviantart.com.
