CHIEF SCOUTS HONOURED
Two Scouts have achieved the top award from the 1st
Bolton Scouts troop. Stuart Matson and Thomas
Hautot received The Chief Scouts Award from Harry
Niezen. Stuart and Thomas attended the Central
Escarpment Council award presentation where
Niezen, council commissioner presented both Scouts
with a certificate from Rideau Hall signed by The
Governor General, The Right Honourable Michaelle
Jean. The Chief Scouts award is the highest award
presented to a Scout. To achieve this award both
Scouts had to hold the Voyageur and Pathfinder
awards. Each Scout then set personal goals in four
areas. In addition to completing 50 hours of
community service, they organized a weekend camp,
gave a presentation on the world Scouting movement,
became qualified in First Aid and undertook
conservation projects at Albion Hills Conservation
Area and Sunkist Valley in Bolton.
