Local resident Christine Gallois is one of 20 students from Holy Name of Mary school in Mississauga, who will be participating this spring in the Dominican Exposure Program. Students are expected to raise the necessary funds and will spend 14 days living and working among Haitian migrant worker families who are harvesting sugar cane in the Dominican Republic.
The purpose of this program is to help the students develop a more informed view of the world and a better sense of social responsibility.
After graduation, Christine will take the fifth year chaplaincy co-op before continuing on to university. The Bolton Knights of Columbus are proud to support Christine with a donation of $300.
