Mavs ousted in semis

Despite a valiant attempt to overcome a large first-half deficit, Mayfield's junior boys basketball team couldn't get the ball to fall into the basket in the critical last moments of an intense semifinal against a talented, disciplined and still undefeated Rick Hansen squad, losing 46- 37.

Although the boys were not content with the result, there is no denying their efforts this season have put Mayfield boys basketball back on the map, and the future is full of promise.

Coach Mike Ferris is extremely proud of how much the boys developed as individuals and as a team this season. Hampered by a knee injury, a sprained wrist and foul trouble, Mayfield battled right to the bitter end with pride.
