Dorado Stars swimmers shine at Cobra Cash Challenge

The Dorado Stars Swim Club sent 56 athletes to the 2007 Cobra Cash Challenge swim meet in Brampton and achieved outstanding results. The Stars shone brightly with 97 top-10 finishes and 150 personal best new times. Outstanding overall results!

Here are the Dorado Stars swimmers who placed in the top 10 at the 2007 Cobra Cash Challenge.

In the girls 10 and under category, Irene Depacina placed first in the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 2nd in the 50m butterfly and 3rd in the 50m backstroke. Bavindeep Basra placed 2nd in the 50m backstroke, 3rd in the 50m breaststroke and butterfly and 4th in the 50m freestyle.

Lauren Beals placed 3rd in the 50m freestyle, 4th in the 50m breaststroke and butterfly and 5th in the 50m backstroke. Brittany Macfarlane placed 7th in the 50m butterfly, 8th in the 50m freestyle and 9th in the 50m backstroke and breaststroke.

Sienna McDougall placed 4th in the 50m backstroke, 6th in the 50m butterfly and 10th in the 50m breaststroke.

In the boys 11 and under category Myles Zagar placed 1st in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. Stefano Gardiman placed 2nd in the 50m freestyle, 3rd in the 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke and 5th in the 50m butterfly. Zachary Montesano placed 3rd in the 50m butterfly, 7th in the 50m backstroke and 9th in the 50m freestyle. Aidan Zagar placed 4th in the 50m freestyle, 6th in the 50m backstroke and 8th in the 50m breaststroke and butterfly.

Mason Kennedy placed 5th in the 50m freestyle, 8th in the 50m backstroke and 6th in the 50m breaststroke. Joshua De St. Croix placed 7th in the 50m breaststroke and Tyler Macfarlane place 10th in the 50m butterfly.

In the girls 11 and under category, Sarah Gandhi placed 2nd in the 50m backstroke, 3rd in the 50m freestyle, 5th in the 50m butterfly and 6th in the 50m breaststroke. Laura McGee placed 3rd in the 50m backstroke and breaststroke, 5th in the 50m freestyle and 8th in the 50m butterfly. Rebecka Gasper placed 9th in the 50m butterfly and 10th in the 50m backstroke.

In the girls 12 years of age category Kristina Stojadinovic placed 2nd in the 50m backstroke, 3rd in the 50m butterfly and 4th in the 50m freestyle.

Freya Lewis placed 8th in the 50m freestyle. Janie Fawcett placed 7th in the 50m breaststroke and 10th in the 50m backstroke.

In the girls 13 years of age category Alana Colgan placed 1st in the 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and butterfly and 9th in the 50m breaststroke. Grace Wilkinson placed 2nd in the 50m backstroke, 3rd in the 50m freestyle, 4th in the 50m butterfly and 6th in the 50m breaststroke. Leah Carriere placed 7th in the 50m breaststroke, 8th in the 50m freestyle, 9th in the 50m backstroke and 10th in the 50m butterfly.

Hannah Cassidy placed 1st in the 50m breaststroke and 9th in the 50m freestyle, backstroke and butterfly.

In the boys 13 years of age category Luca Rapan placed 5th in the 50m breaststroke and 7th in the 50m freestyle, backstroke and butterfly.

In the girls 14 years of age category Jennifer Heron placed 1st in the 50m breaststroke, 3rd in the 50m freestyle, 5th in the 50m butterfly and 6th in the 50m backstroke. Esther Haines placed 2nd in the 50m freestyle and breaststroke, 3rd in the 50m backstroke and 4th in the 50m butterfly.

In the girls 15 years of age and over category Paige Miller placed 1st in the 50m butterfly, 3rd in the 50m breaststroke, 4th in the 50m backstroke and 6th in the 50m freestyle. Andrea Bracaglia placed 10th in the 50m butterfly.

In the boys 15 years of age and over category Tyler Bredshneider placed 6th in the 50m butterfly, 7th in the 50m backstroke and breaststroke and 8th in the 50m freestyle.

Mark Bechtel placed 8th in the 50m freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke and 10th in the 50m butterfly.

Kynyn Doughty, Julia Stojadinovic, Rebecca Hodge, Shannon Tran, Emily Hryb, Leah Duguay, Jessica Koutsomichos, Lauren Homann, Amber Timm, Abigail Duguay, Bjorn-Ole Shrader, Tristan Beam, Gianluca Gardiman, Ryan Downie, Connor and Andrew Beals, Nikolay Videnov, Kathleen Horgan, Julia Troiani, Darian Sibbald, Vanessa Bracaglia, Kaitlyn Loder, Katie Depeuter, Thomas Slek and Andrew York achieved best individual performance times.
