Increase to help elderly

The credit amount that elderly residents can apply for against their property taxes imposed by the Town was increased by Caledon council recently.

The current amount of $150 in assistance will go up $50 a year to $350 during the term of this council.

Councillor Allan Thompson, who proposed the motion, said this won't make for an increase in Caledon taxes.

"It's something we can do to give back and help them out," he said.
