Committee for grants

A committee of Caledon council was established at the March 6 council meeting that will review and make recommendations to council regarding any municipal grant or financial assistance requests for the 2008 to 2010 current operational budgets.

Councillor Richard Whitehead noted in his motion that requests for municipal grants and financial assistance have increased substantially over the past few years.

He added the funding for these requests is directly through the tax levy and can have an impact on any tax levy increase.

The committee will be comprised of councillors Doug Beffort, Richard Paterak, Gord McClure, Allan Thompson, Richard Whitehead and Annette Groves.
