Fraud, mischief charges are laid

An extensive 18-month OPP investigation regarding an alleged sexual assault came to a close with the laying of criminal charges. Thirty-six-year-old Jennefer Davis of Orangeville was charged with two counts of Public Mischief and two counts of Fraud.

September 13, 2005, Caledon OPP responded to a report of a woman being approached by an unknown male while she was attending to her disabled Dodge Neon on McLaughlin Road in Caledon. The woman, Jennefer Davis, reported that she was attacked by the male and sexually assaulted.

Caledon Crime Unit detectives thoroughly investigated a record volume of tips received from citizens of Caledon, other communities and police services within the GTA. The investigation led to the March 9 arrest of Davis, who was charged and held for a bail hearing March 10.

Caledon OPP would like to thank the community for their patience and their ongoing support during this investigation.
