Pellett, William Donald (Bill)
Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on Sunday, March 4, 2007, William Pellett, the wonderful, loving, caring childhood sweetheart of Eve (Evelynne Reeves). Proud father and father-in-law of Rick Pellett, Orangeville; Bonnie and Jim Charter, Georgetown; Sandy and Paul Hoodless, Toronto. Beloved Poppa of Sherrie Charter, Jen and Brian Snow, Rebecca and Rachel Pellett and great-grandfather of darling Marjorie Snow. Beloved brother and brother-in-law of Joy and George Deathe, Bolton. Childhood friend and brother-in-law of Ted and his wife Marion Reeves. Beloved brother-in-law of Connie Flood, Pat and her husband Dave Newlands. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Ida, and brother Ted. Bill was born June 30, 1931 and raised in the Village of Burnhamthorpe, attended Burnhamthorpe Public School and Western Technical School. Bill and Eve married 55 years ago and moved to Palgrave where Bill became known as Palgrave's Mr. Fixit to everyone who asked for his assistance from his small workshop at 33 Pine Avenue. A former A.V. Roe, Cooksville Brick and Town of Caledon Public Works employee. Bill restored an award winning 1931 Model "A" Ford Tudor in the 1970's and spent his retirement years out in the workshop restoring award winning tractors (mostly John Deere) and demonstrated a Drag Saw with Ted at the Georgian Bay Steam Show for many years. When the big logs became too much for Bill to handle, he built a miniature drag saw so he could continue their demonstrations. Bill could fix anything and everything, but was unable to fix the results of a benign acoustic neuroma brain tumour, undergoing 25 radiation treatments but succumbing to water on the brain that led to an operation to implant a shunt that his body rejected leading to infection that overtook his body but not his creative brain or his wonderful sense of humour. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Tuesday afternoon 2-4, evening 7- 9 o'clock and Wednesday, March 7 for one hour prior to the funeral service in the chapel at 2 o'clock. Followed by cremation. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Palgrave United Church, 34 Pine Avenue, Palgrave L7E 0L9, where Bill cut the grass and removed the snow and where for many years he poured the tea and coffee at their famous Turkey Supper.
