HB Cycling holds its AGM

Although HB Cycling Club has only completed its first full year as a recognized club, it has made many strides in becoming recognized as one of the premier cycling clubs within southern Ontario. During HBCC's inaugural year, they enlisted close to 90 members and began laying the ground work for many exciting cycling events that will take part in and around Dufferin County.

HB Cycling Club takes pride in being able to offer a number of rides for the different level of cyclist, whether they're interested in riding mountain bikes, road bikes, cross bikes or racing any of the aforementioned at the beginner or elite level. HBCC also takes a great deal of pride in being a major contributor to grass roots mountain biking, as many members encourage, and take the time to help develop young riders.

Although HBCC is not centred around racing, they do boast an extremely talented group of riders. During this past year HBCC raced its way to a 5th place finish, beating out many top teams from around Ontario. HB Cycling Club made headway in racing as they placed extremely well at provincial races, but also at races held at the national and international level. Although the race team is filled with talented riders, many of them take the time to help out and support other riders whether they are active participants in the race scene or not.

HB Cycling Club would like to take this time to thank anybody who has contributed to the development of this great club and to also encourage past members, and those interested in becoming members to be in attendance at the first annual general meeting, held at Orangeville Fairgrounds March 7 at 7 p.m. This meeting will be used to nominate the board of directors and begin the process in planning out what activities and events the club will be interested in pursuing for 2007. Club memberships for the 2007 season will be available following the meeting.
