Municipal grants awarded by council
Municipal grants totalling $58,750 were awarded to 10 different groups by Caledon council recently.

A total of 18 organizations had made requests that totalled $115,160.

The allocations that were approved included $24,000 for Caledon Community Services, $10,000 for the Bolton Merchants Association, $8,750 for the Caledon Canada Day celebrations, $5,000 for the Headwaters Arts Festival, $4,600 for the Peel Federation of Agriculture, $2,500 for the Tournament of Champions, $1,800 for Canadian Blood Services, $800 for the Albion & Bolton Agricultural Society, $800 for the Caledon Agricultural Society and $500 for the Peel-Dufferin Plowman's Association.

Requests that were not approved included $10,000 from Family Transition Place, $6,310 from the Policing Advisory Council of Caledon, $5,000 each from Caledon Citizens on Patrol, C3 Canadian Cross Training Club, Feast for the Palate and the Terra Cotta Community Centre, and $2,500 from Equine Animal & Rescue Association.
