STAGE project seeks creative youth in Caledon Are you 14 to 18 years old? Have you ever thought about acting, film-making, or Web design? Would you enjoy being a part of something new and special? Are you ready to be really creative to help others in your community? Student Theatre for Awareness Guidance, and Education (STAGE), is currently seeking founding Those interested in performance, members for an important and exciting theatre project. Funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General through Caledon Community Services in partnership with Caledon Youth Services, the STAGE project is a youth theatre dealing with the issues of victimization. creating and designing promotional materials, set design, Web site creation, documentary film making, and much more will find it all in STAGE. "This is a ground-breaking opportunity," said Mary Horzempa, artistic director of STAGE. "Founding youth members will create a theatre performance and have the opportunity to recruit, train and mentor other youth to educate themselves and their peers in dealing with issues of victimization. It's a tough topic for kids to handle. This gives them their own voice and a new way to support one another as they learn and explore the issues." Registration for the program is limited. If you are interested in exploring what STAGE has to offer, you may apply for an interview at Jobs Caledon at Caledon Community Services, 18 King Street East in Bolton, or at Caledon Youth Services at Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness 14111 Hwy 50 North, Bolton, or at your high school guidance department, or community libraries.
