OPP arrest fleeing driver in Bolton backyard

Caledon OPP Officers responded to 43 property damage and eight personal injury collisions during the week of Feb. 5-11.

Alcohol & Driving

Monday, Feb. 5, a traffic stop on Albion-Vaughan Townline north of King Street resulted in the arrest of the driver. Twenty-nineyear old Cesar Morales of Tottenham was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. His court date has been set for March 8.

Tuesday, Feb. 6, a vehicle stop on Dixie Road near Mayfield Road regarding a Highway Traffic Act offence resulted in a criminal charge for the driver. Thirty-oneyear old Michael Ashworth of Brampton was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. He will appear in court March 8.

Saturday, Feb. 10, 21- year-old Erica Lazzara of Nobleton was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood following a vehicle stop on Harvest Moon Drive near King Street in Bolton. She will attend court March 22.

Recovered Vehicle

Tuesday, Feb. 6, a vehicle previously reported stolen from Mississauga was located abandoned behind a business on Regional Road 50. The vehicle is believed to have been involved in a failto remain collision in Bolton during December 2006 and likely abandoned at the business location shortly afterwards. Caledon OPP is continuing the investigation regarding the involvement of the stolen vehicle in the collision.

Theft

Friday, Feb. 9, firewood was reported stolen from a Regional Road 50 business in Bolton. Twenty-nine-yearold Peter Gaynor of Caledon was charged with Theft- Under and will appear in court March 1.

Saturday, Feb. 10, a homeowner on Olde Baseline Road reported that a pair of skis were stolen from outside of his home sometime overnight.

Criminal Charges

Wednesday, Feb. 7, a Caledon officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence on King Street near Evan's Ridge in Bolton. The driver of the vehicle eluded police by pulling into a driveway of a Farmer's Lane residence and fled on foot towards the backyard of the home. Twenty-nine-year-old Chad Robertson of Nobleton was located hiding in the back yard where he was arrested. He was charged with Flight From Police, Drive While Under Suspension, Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, Drive Motor Vehicle-No Current Validation Tag and Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle. He will appear in court March 22.

Friday, Feb. 9, a business dispute escalated to a threat of death towards the owner of a Queen Street business in Bolton. Sixty-two-year-old Gian Daley of Toronto will appear in court March 22 charged with Utter Threats to Cause Death.

Domestic Disputes

Caledon OPP officers responded to 15 domestic disputes between Feb. 5 and 11. Charges were laid in Caledon Feb. 8 and 10; in Bolton Feb. 10 and 11.
