Caledon volunteer and achievement awards

The Town of Caledon is pleased to announce that nominations are currently being accepted for the 2007 Caledon Volunteer & Citizen Achievement Awards.

"Since 1984, this awards program has recognized community members whose efforts have made a significant impact to the development and advancement of sports, arts, culture or social services in Caledon," said Mayor Marolyn Morrison.

If you know of a volunteer who has represented their organization and the Caledon community in an extraordinary manner, recognize their dedication with an award nomination. Organizations may wish to consider nominating small groups (i.e. committees within an organization). Individuals who have contributed a significant number of years and dedicated themselves to long term service should also be considered for nomination.

Award categories include volunteer service awards; citizen achievement awards in sport and arts & culture; distinguished citizen award.

All nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee, and selections will be based on councilapproved criteria. Individuals who are selected to receive awards will be officially notified, along with their nominator, and invited to attend the awards celebration.

The 2007 Volunteer & Citizen Achievement Awards will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Caledon Community Complex in Caledon East.

Nomination forms and details of the award criteria may be obtained from the Town of Caledon Web site (www.caledon.ca), or by contacting the Recreation & Property Services Department at 905-584- 2272 x.4235. Nominations are due to the Recreation & Property Services Department at Town Hall by 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 16.
