Road network vital to all of us A letter writer recently stated that roads are a sinkhole of money. I would disagree and point out to this writer that they owe their standard of living to our road network. Everything the writer wears, eats or uses has to travel on our roads, and without roads our society would quickly break down. The writer also asserts that it is every person's responsibility to reduce the number of cars on the road. With population growth comes growth in the number of cars, and the only way to reduce their number would be to take away from some people the right to own and/or operate a car. Would they like to have bureaucrats deciding who may drive and who may not, or worse, where they may live? Larry Pope Caledon East |
