Cartoon worth a thousand words Congratulations to both the Caledon Citizen and the Enterprise for publishing very timely cartoons (Jan. 31). The "Ad" snake attacking Harper, and the Liberal policy paper relabelled as "Conservative" said it all. As a citizen of Caledon, Ontario's greenest community, I felt total embarrassment at the tenure and text of the federal government's current attack ads - they were more the response of a rat trapped in a corner, than the ethics and integrity we had been promised. Did the current government really think that our citizens were so stupid as not to know that the Liberals, and Dion as environmental minister, had initiated the very policies that the new Conservative Reform Alliance Party government immediately cut when taking office, and now reclaim as their own? I urge David Tilson as our MP to petition his colleagues to remove these offensive television ads and honourably acknowledge the source of their "new" green plan, albeit much reduced in scope. Thanks to our editors for putting it all into humorous perspective. Skid Crease Bolton |
