OPP Report 1-888-310-1122 Caledon OPP Officers responded to 41 property damage and three personal injury collisions during the week of Jan. 22-28. Traffic Flying ice from a motor vehicle traveling on the highway is an obvious hazard and a dangerous condition. Ontario Provincial Police have received many complaints from motorists who have been struck by flying ice from a vehicle traveling in front of theirs. This is a hazard that occurs more frequently than we realize during the winter season. All operators of a motor vehicle are responsible to ensure the vehicle they are operating is free and clear of ice, snow and debris, as well as to ensure all loads are secured. Break & Enter Monday, Jan. 22, a homeowner on Dale Street in Bolton reported that someone had entered their unlocked shed sometime overnight. Nothing was reported stolen from the shed. Drugs Monday, Jan. 22, Caledon OPP officers conducted a R.I.D.E. spot check at Heart Lake Road and Boston Mills Road. Avehicle stop resulted in charges for the driver. Thirty-six-year-old Stephen Clark of North York was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance- Marihuana and Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. Court date has been set for Feb. 26. Wednesday, Jan. 24, while conducting a seat belt spot check at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 10, officers stopped a vehicle because the driver was not wearing his seat belt. Sixty-one-year-old Etienne Poirier of Osprey Township was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marihuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Cocaine. He was held for a bail hearing Jan. 25. Thursday, Jan. 25, a R.I.D.E. spot check in Palgrave on Regional Road 50 resulted in the arrest of the driver and police seizure of the van he was driving. Forty-six-year-old Thanh Hung Tran of North York was charged with Possession for the Purpose-Marijuana and Production of Marijuana. He was held for a bail hearing Jan. 25. The van contained approximately $100,000 value in marihuana plants and equipment used for the production of marijuana. Mischief Tuesday, Jan. 23, a window of a car was smashed while the vehicle was left parked in a school parking lot on Airport Road in Caledon East. Recovered Vehicle Tuesday, Jan. 23, a van that had been stolen from the Toronto area was recovered abandoned on Browning Court in Bolton. |
