Rail crossing agreements Caledon council recently reached two agreements with Canadian Pacific Railway for expansion of the railway crossing at Coleraine Drive and for the installation of the warning system. The modifications are required to facilitate the planned widening of Coleraine Drive to four lanes as part of the Bolton arterial roads project. The expanded railway crossing will cost $307,273 and the warning system will cost $182,900. These costs will be included in the Town's 2007 capital budget under the BAR project. After construction, the Town will be responsible for half of the annual maintenance cost of the crossing warning system. CPR will be responsible for the other half of annual warning system maintenance cost plus the total cost of maintaining the crossing surface. |
